Making a big splash with Deep Water USA

This past month, I focused my lens on the unique floral flavors of Miami-based beverage company Deep Water USA. They’re paving the way in one of the biggest up-and-coming trends; floral-flavored drinks. Their primary flavor is their Deep Rose Lemonade which hit stores such as Fresh Market and Whole Foods in 2019. Since then, the company has expanded to various other big box marketplaces and boutique stores across the United States. 

In this photography project, facilitated by the agency Tallahassee Entertainment, I created three splash photography images for their flagship flavors. These images will be used across their social media and print advertising. Our goal was to create images that really popped while playing with the unique color of each product. The setup for these images was a challenge I wholeheartedly accepted. After testing and making a mess in the studio, we knocked it out of the park for this client. The Power of Color

The two key components I wanted to focus on in this project were color and freezing motion; the splash. Color plays a pivotal role in photography advertising, holding the power to capture attention, evoke emotions, and convey messages instantly. The right color palette can attract viewers' gaze and make an advertisement stand out among the cluttered landscape of visuals that we experience everyday. Colors have the ability to stimulate specific feelings and associations, creating a subconscious connection with the audience. Warm hues like red and orange can ignite excitement and passion, while cool tones like blue and green evoke a sense of calm and trust. Additionally, colors can enhance branding efforts, establishing a visual identity that resonates with the target audience. In photography advertising, color selection is not just a mere artistic choice; it is a strategic tool that amplifies the impact of an image, making it an indispensable element in capturing the viewers' attention and leaving a lasting impression.
