Climmie’s H&M BBQ and Soul Food

Food Photography in Thomasville, Georgia

A major step for every small business is launching a branded website. So many mom-and-pop shops operate simply from Facebook as their primary web landing page. A member of the Climmie’s BBQ team reached out to me for their food photography needs and I was beyond excited to get to work. Our photoshoot focused on a handful of key menu items ranging from classic fried chicken, turkey wings, and BBQ ribs to southern soul food favorites like oxtail and pig feet. It was awesome getting to style and photograph various southern staples while watching the Climmie’s kitchen do what they do best; make delicious food.

The restaurant owners Climmie and Ashley began offering their soulful food right out of their own home, and this is how they operated for many years. After years of lines constantly forming down the neighborhood of people waiting to get a bite of their food, they leaped and decided to open a physical location in Thomasville, Georgia. Their BBQ restaurant has continued to be a staple in the Thomasville community with a consistent flow of loyal patrons.

Why should restaurant owners launch a website?

While Facebook and Instagram are powerful tools for restaurant marketing, having a dedicated website offers multiple advantages that surpass social media:

  • Increased visibility and reach through search engines

  • Increasing potential customers. Not everyone uses social media and a website ensures your business is accessible to everyone searching for their next lunch or dinner spot!

  • Having a website shows potential customers you’re a serious and established business, building trust and confidence in your brand

  • Improve credibility by displaying local or national awards, customer reviews, and press mentions

  • Websites act as a marketing tool in and of themselves as well as a platform for various other promotional tools such as collecting emails/phone numbers of prospective customers, locking in reservations, and even online ordering!

Social media is a wonderful tool to engage customers and build a community around your restaurant, but your website should serve as a central hub for your online presence.
