Hangar 38 Menu Photography

Hangar 38 took Tallahassee by storm when it opened its doors on May 4th, 2019. I had the awesome opportunity to work with this Tallahassee business and create images centered around everything Hangar 38 has to offer: delicious food, fun games, and of course bowling! Below are some of my favorite food and beverage photos created during our photoshoot. Everything from the light to the presentation (thanks to their talented chef) really came together for this production and I couldn’t be happier with how the photos turned out.

Restaurant Menu Photography

It's important to know where and how images are going to be used. This informs the entire direction of the photoshoot and helps me as the photographer decide how and where the images will be made. Hangar 38 makes changes to its food menu one to two times per year. Meaning each time they must redesign and reprint their menu booklets. However, during each new printed menu, they have had to use the same food photography their old marketing agency created during the first year of opening in 2019. That’s where I came in.

In addition to their print menu, these images were to be used as marketing collateral in email and social media. So, it was important to have both single hero images of each dish as well as a mix and match of styled plates.

The food and drink needed to look perfect, while also showing the dishes being eaten and utilizing familiar colors, branding, and textures of the restaurant. Working with a local business that is such a staple in the Tallahassee foodies community is probably my favorite aspect of my job.
